People who inspire

Staff benefits

We know that looking after our staff is how we look after our pupils. Here's what you can expect when you join the Charter Trust team.

Staff benefits

Competitive salaries

We pay fairly for teaching and non-teaching roles alike. Your salary follows national pay terms, so you're treated consistently, wherever you work in the Trust.

A generous pension

Every member of staff is automatically enrolled in a career-average pension, through the Teachers' Pension Scheme or the Local Government Pension Scheme. We add a generous employer contribution on top, and you won't pay tax or National Insurance on what you put in.

Generous holiday entitlement

A good work/life balance matters to us, so our holiday allowance is generous, on top of bank holidays. Teaching staff get the standard school holidays, including a two-week October half term.

Flexible, family-friendly working

We offer flexible working, job shares and part-time roles, along with generous family leave and support for emergencies or compassionate leave, because life doesn't stop at the school gates.

Free advice and counselling

Our Employee Assistance Programme gives you free, confidential support, any time, day or night. You can also access up to eight sessions of structured counselling, face-to-face or over the phone.

Cycle to work scheme

Get a new bike and equipment through salary sacrifice, and save on tax and National Insurance while you're at it.

Season ticket loans

Spread the cost of your annual travel ticket through salary sacrifice, with the same tax and National Insurance savings.

Generous maternity leave

We offer above national maternity pay to both teachers, support staff and leaders. We extend this to adopted parents.
