Alexa supports projects, professional development and school improvement across the Trust’s secondary schools. She works closely with leaders and teachers on planning, implementation and project management to strengthen practice and outcomes.
Alexa has been part of The Charter Schools family since 2011 and has held senior leadership roles at both The Charter School East Dulwich and The Charter School North Dulwich, including Assistant Headteacher for KS5 and for Teaching and Learning.
Passionate about education, Alexa is committed to inspiring curiosity and creativity in young people. She believes all students can succeed with hard work, high expectations and caring support. Alexa holds degrees from the University of Bristol and the UCL Institute of Education and is also a History teacher.

Will Cannock is SENCo at Charles Dickens Primary School in Southwark and SEND Strategic Lead for the Charter Schools Educational Trust, providing support and advice across Primary and Secondary schools. Will works as an Evidence Leader in Education (ELE) with the Education Endowment Foundation at the Charles Dickens Research School, working with schools nationally to develop and deliver learning behaviours programmes with a focus on SEND, social and emotional learning.

Lucy is the school improvement partner for the primary schools in the Trust, and has worked in education for 26 years in many roles, including deputy director, local authority improvement advisor and headteacher. Lucy is a passionate advocate of every school can improve no matter where they are on their journey, and works alongside school teams to realise that potential. She is equally passionate about climate change and sustainability education, and the power of professional learning communities to transform pedagogy and practice in the classroom.

Daniela Jamois works as an early years educator, advisor and trainer, and has spent over twenty years in the sector. She brings a genuine love of the outdoors and nature into her role, and finds working with the youngest children especially rewarding, since it means being part of the biggest leap in development a child will ever make. She's proud to carry forward the rich tradition of early years education, helping children build curious, independent minds from the very start.

Michael is the Headteacher of Charles Dickens Primary School and Nursery. He has worked at the School since 2010 and before this taught in Surrey.
He is experienced in developing evidence informed whole school approaches to pupil and staff wellbeing and improving behaviour standards.
Michael is a trustee for the Greensand Multi Academy Trust and sits on the DfE expert advisory board for both staff and pupil mental health.

Before joining London South, Kate worked at Ambition Institute (formerly the Future Leaders Trust), overseeing the delivery of leadership development programmes for school and MAT leaders.

Sarah Botchway boasts a 20-year career in education, covering a broad spectrum from teaching 3-year-olds through to Key Stage 3 and 4 students, along with adults in London and Paris. Sarah has held many significant leadership positions, including Headship and Associate Headteacher in London, Her current role is Director for the London South Teaching School Hub, part of The Charter Schools Educational Trust. The Teaching School focuses on supporting Department for Education (DfE) initiatives for teacher recruitment and retention. Her responsibilities span from initial teacher training to the continuous professional development of teachers, school and trust leaders across Lambeth, Lewisham, and Southwark.

Cathal is the ITT Manager at London South Teaching School Hub. Prior to this role, he held a senior leadership position at a primary school in South London, where he was responsible for leading the Early Years programme.
Branding, websites & digital communication
Brand identity, website design and development, curriculum resources, pupil workbooks, animation, signage, social media and marketing materials, all built in-house and available to every school in the Trust.
Tom Young leads Charter's in-house design team, working directly with school leaders on everything from a full website rebuild to a single open day poster, and drawing on a wider specialism in curriculum design and educational product development. He also works alongside school leadership teams on live projects, bringing an outside perspective to problems that go beyond design work alone.

Tom Young
Lead Practitioner Digital Communication and Educational Product Design
Tom leads on creative design across the Trust. Illustrating, animating, designing and developing curriculum resources and materials that support children's learning.
Tom also leads on branding and website design for a number of schools and organisations within the Trust including the the Wellbeing School, London South Art Hub and London South Teaching School Hub.
He joined Charles Dickens Primary School in 2015 where he taught across Key Stages 1 and 2 and has previously taught at Goldsmiths University as a visiting Teacher.
Tom is driven by creative possibilities in education and has a degree in Education Studies and an MA in Museum Studies.
Prior to teaching, Tom worked as a designer on cross-cultural arts projects in China and the UK with organisations including KT Wong Foundation, Barbican and National Theatre.

Evidence-informed guidance on curriculum, SEND and literacy, helping schools apply what the research actually shows works, rather than chase the latest trend.
David Windle leads London South Research School, helping schools make sure "good things are done well," and sharing what works through events, webinars and professional networks, in partnership with the Education Endowment Foundation.

David is the director of the London South Research School at Charles Dickens, as well as being deputy headteacher at Charles Dickens Primary School.
Having taught for many years, David was English lead and assistant head at Charles Dickens before becoming deputy headteacher leading on curriculum. As director of the research school, David leads on innovation projects, partnerships, and advocacy work delivered through the Education Endowment Foundation.

Nicola McGarrell leads our Early Years Stronger Practice Hub, one of only eighteen across England. She works closely with local nurseries and childminders, not just Charter schools, building relationships and evidence-informed practice through webinars, events and ongoing partnership.

Nicola McGarrell leads the London South Early Years Stronger Practice Hub, based at our lead setting, Charles Dickens Primary School and Nursery. She has over twenty years' experience in early years education, including ten years as an EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) Manager at a Lambeth primary school. She has also worked closely with the local authority moderating the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile, and supported schools well beyond London in her role as a Specialist Leader of Education. Through her leadership of the Hub, funded by the Department for Education, Nicola provides tailored support to early years settings, promotes evidence-informed practice, and builds strong partnerships with local authorities.

Site visits, short and long term maintenance planning, capital project delivery and compliance, all prioritised through a shared Impact Matrix rather than guesswork, plus a growing focus on sustainability and energy efficiency.
Charlie Evans is our Estates Lead, working with every school through a simple three step process: visiting to evaluate what's needed, supporting site management day to day, then delivering projects in the order they'll make the most difference. He also leads the Trust's sustainability and energy efficiency work across our buildings.

With a background spanning design, construction, and estate management, Charlie brings a creative yet practical approach to overseeing the trust’s estate portfolio. A former visiting lecturer in Design at Goldsmiths, University of London, and a trained cabinet maker, he combines academic rigour with hands-on experience to provide strategic oversight for future-focused educational environments.
