Students at every level were celebrating as they opened their examination results this summer.

At A-Level and BTEC at Charter North, over three quarters of grades were A*-B and just under half of A-Level grades were A or A*. Plus 85% of Vocational students earned a merit to distinction* grades.

The Charter School East Dulwich also celebrated their best A-Level and BTEC results since the sixth form’s inception. Over 92% of students have secured their first or second choice university or educational institution, with students going on to some very impressive things.

Headteacher Alison Harbottle simply said that they efforts were “nothing short of inspiring thanks to the incredible support from our staff and families”.

The Charter School East Dulwich also celebrated its strongest ever GCSE results, with Year 11 students surpassing previous records across every measure.

Alison Harbottle, Headteacher, said: “We are absolutely delighted with these exceptional results which reflect the hard work of students, the dedication and expertise of our staff and the unwavering support of families.

One of the most impressive improvements was in the proportion of students gaining strong passes in both English and Maths with almost two thirds achieving a Grade 5 or higher in both subjects, a 10% increase on 2024. While 34% of all GCSE grades were at Grade 7-9, with 20% at Grade 8 or higher.

Alison added: “This summer’s results reflect a significant step forward and celebration for the school community, with students on average achieving half a grade higher than last year across all subjects.”

At Charter School Bermondsey there were cheers of delight as students achieved their personal goals and successes.

Marcus Huntley, Principal, said: “My congratulations go to all of our wonderful students who received their GCSE results today.

“Of course, we want to celebrate fantastic individual performances, but at our inclusive school what truly matters is how each student, regardless of starting point, gave their best and navigated their personal journey towards their goals.

“We have seen hard work, dedication and resilience in abundance, and it is that strength of character that fills me with pride.”

At The Charter School North Dulwich, 86% of all students attained Grade 4 or above in English and Maths, with close to 80% managing a Grade 5 or above in the crucial subjects. In addition, over 60% of students gained the English Baccalaureate, with impressive outcomes across a wide range of courses.

The National BBC Social Media Team were also on hand to celebrate the school’s successes with millions of views online.
